NAIROBI, Kenya | June 27, 2026 — Kenya's football giants, Gor Mahia FC, have strengthened their ever-growing support base following the official launch of the Kahawa Royalties Branch, an initiative aimed at enhancing fan engagement, promoting professionalism, and expanding the club's presence across Nairobi and its surrounding areas.

The branch was officially unveiled on Saturday, with its patron, Duncan Onyango, urging supporters to embrace professionalism, accountability, and increased financial support as part of efforts to transform the record Kenyan champions into a stronger and more sustainable club.

Speaking during the launch ceremony held at the iconic Ravishing Radish Hotel, Kasneb Towers, Upper Hill, Nairobi, Onyango praised the branch officials and members for their commitment, describing the occasion as more than just the formation of another supporters' chapter.

"The launch of the Kahawa Royalties Branch is not just about opening another branch. We are putting Gor Mahia on a new path," Onyango said.

He also thanked members of the media for supporting the branch from its planning stages through to its official unveiling, saying their coverage had played a key role in the success of the event.

"I want to start by thanking the media for coming here and joining us on this journey, from planning the launch until now," he said.

Onyango noted that Gor Mahia has made significant progress in improving its internal organisation compared to previous years, although he acknowledged that there is still room for improvement.

"Today we have a club that is more organized. Are we well organized? No. But are we better organized? Yes. Can we do better? Yes," he stated.

He urged supporters to continue demanding accountability from the club's leadership while also playing their part in driving the club's growth.

Among his key proposals was the introduction of season tickets and quarterly ticket packages, arguing that advance ticket sales would provide Gor Mahia with a stable source of revenue before the start of each season.

He challenged the club's management to roll out annual and seasonal ticket packages, expressing confidence that committed supporters would embrace the initiative.

"If you give us season tickets, we are capable of buying them. That is one way of raising money for the club before the season even begins," he said.

Onyango also called on supporters to consistently turn up for Gor Mahia matches, insisting that membership alone is not enough if fans fail to fill the stadium on match days.

"The real test of this branch is not celebrating its launch. The test will be when we go to the stadium and fill the stands. We cannot demand accountability from the club if we don't attend matches," he said.

The branch patron further urged fans to stop purchasing counterfeit Gor Mahia jerseys and instead buy authentic club merchandise to boost the team's revenue.

"There are so many fake jerseys around. Why can't we buy genuine jerseys from the club? Then we will know exactly how our money is benefiting the team," Onyango remarked.

He also encouraged members to wear official Gor Mahia jerseys on match days while reserving branch-branded attire for branch meetings and official functions.

Looking ahead, Onyango expressed confidence that the Kahawa Royalties Branch would become one of Gor Mahia's leading supporters' chapters by championing professionalism, accountability, and active fan engagement.

"We want to be a leading branch not only in terms of membership but also in professionalism, accountability, and everything that goes with it," he said.

He invited more Gor Mahia supporters to join the branch, promising an inclusive leadership that embraces constructive criticism while rejecting divisive politics.

"We encourage democracy and constructive criticism because it helps build the club. My promise as patron is to support every member and help this branch grow into a model for others," Onyango concluded.

An Overview of the Newly Launched Gor Mahia Kahawa Royalties Branch

The newly launched Gor Mahia Kahawa Royalties Branch is set to become a vibrant hub for the club's supporters living in Nairobi, Kahawa, Roysambu, Kasarani, and neighbouring areas, bringing fans together under a structured and well-organised supporters' network.

Beyond rallying behind Gor Mahia on match days, the branch aims to strengthen the relationship between the club and its supporters by promoting active fan engagement, professionalism, and accountability.

According to the branch's organisers, the initiative has a broader vision that extends beyond football. It seeks to spearhead community outreach programmes, nurture young talent through sports development initiatives, and undertake corporate social responsibility projects that positively impact local communities.

The branch also intends to mobilise supporters to purchase official club merchandise, boost match attendance, and contribute to sustainable revenue generation for Gor Mahia while fostering unity among fans across the region.

The branch will be led by a team of officials tasked with advancing its vision of professionalism, accountability, and stronger fan engagement. Duncan Onyango will serve as the Branch Patron, Paul Nobert as Chairperson, Kennedy Omondi as Secretary General, Roselyn Itiko as Organising Secretary, and Marion Muema as Branch Treasurer.

With its official launch, the Kahawa Royalties Branch is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting Gor Mahia's long-term growth both on and off the pitch while serving as a model for organised, impactful, and community-driven supporters' branches across the country.
