Nyagah was confirmed as the party’s flag bearer after a closely contested nomination exercise in which he garnered 3,221 votes, narrowly beating George Wambugu Kanuri, who came second with 3,077 votes. The exercise was conducted under the supervision of UDA’s internal election structures.
Speaking on Thursday morning at the UDA headquarters after receiving his nomination certificate, Nyagah thanked the party leadership and the people of Ol Kalou for entrusting him with the UDA ticket, pledging to champion inclusive development if elected.
Meanwhile, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan expressed confidence in the nomination process, commending the National Elections Board (NEB) for conducting what he described as free, fair, and credible primaries.
He further noted that only one dispute was recorded and was successfully resolved by the Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC), chaired by Dr. Adrian Kamotho.
The Secretary General also expressed confidence that the party would secure victory not only in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election but also in the Emurua Dikirr by-election, which kicked off on Thursday morning.
